LEXINGTON, KY — A true Kentucky legend is receiving one of the state’s most prestigious honors. Former Kentucky Wildcats football star and NFL standout Randall Cobb has been officially selected for induction into the Kentucky Sports Hall of Fame as part of the 2025 class, a fitting tribute to a career defined by heart, versatility, and excellence.
Cobb, who made his mark as one of the most electrifying players in Wildcats history, is widely regarded as one of the most dynamic and beloved athletes to ever wear the blue and white. His induction recognizes not just his collegiate and professional achievements, but the indelible legacy he has left on the Commonwealth and the Big Blue Nation.
During his three years at Kentucky (2008–2010), Cobb thrilled fans with his ability to play multiple positions — quarterback, wide receiver, kick returner, and even holder — becoming the very definition of a do-it-all playmaker. He left UK ranked second all-time in career touchdowns and total all-purpose yards, earning First Team All-SEC honors and national recognition as one of the most versatile athletes in college football.
Cobb was selected in the second round of the 2011 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers and quickly became a fan favorite in the league. Over his NFL career, he has totaled more than 7,000 receiving yards and nearly 50 touchdowns while also serving as a leader on and off the field.
The Kentucky Sports Hall of Fame, established in 1963, honors individuals who have made significant and lasting contributions to sports in the Bluegrass State. This year’s induction ceremony will take place in Louisville and is expected to draw fans and supporters from all corners of the state.
