Harry Kane’s time at Bayern Munich has been nothing short of record-breaking, and now the club is determined to ensure that his goalscoring brilliance continues well into the future. The England captain has already cemented his place in Bayern history, becoming the fastest player to reach 100 goals for the club after netting a brace in the 4-0 Bundesliga victory over Werder Bremen. Remarkably, Kane achieved the milestone in just 104 matches, eclipsing the pace set by Cristiano Ronaldo (105) and Erling Haaland.
With 10 goals in his opening five league fixtures this season — and 15 across all competitions — the 32-year-old shows no signs of slowing down. He is firmly on track to threaten Robert Lewandowski’s single-season Bundesliga record of 41 goals, set in 2020/21, while also driving Bayern’s charge for domestic and European silverware under Vincent Kompany.
Yet, amid all the goals and glory, questions remain about Kane’s long-term future in Munich. His current contract runs until June 2027, at which point he will be 34. Traditionally, Bayern’s strict policy has been to only offer one-year extensions to players over 30, but exceptions have been made for superstars in the past — and Kane, by every measure, falls into that category.
Bayern board member for sport Max Eberl has moved to reassure fans that talks over Kane’s future will be handled with patience and confidence. “Harry is an exceptional player for us, a true leader,” Eberl explained. “He underscored his desire to join Bayern, and he has said many times that he loves playing here, loves the club, and loves winning titles. We want to keep doing that with him for a long time to come. That’s why we’ll discuss the next steps with him in a relaxed and positive way.”
Given Kane’s impact both on and off the pitch, Bayern are expected to table at least a two-year extension when the time comes, breaking their usual policy to ensure their talisman stays beyond 2027. For Kane himself, the equation appears simple: he is happy, settled, and winning in Munich. And for Bayern, the prospect of securing their record-breaking striker’s commitment could be as valuable as any trophy.
