Manchester United are reportedly plotting an ambitious move for Bayern Munich’s rising star Aleksandar Pavlovic, with insiders confirming that the young German midfielder has caught the attention of top Premier League scouts.
The 21-year-old sensation, hailed by pundit Owen Hargreaves as a blend of Michael Carrick’s calm precision and Sergio Busquets’ tactical intelligence, has become one of Europe’s most coveted young midfielders. His performances for Bayern Munich have not only solidified his place in the German champions’ starting XI but also placed him on the radar of football’s elite — including Manchester United, Manchester City, Juventus, and Paris Saint-Germain.
According to renowned German journalist Christian Falk, Pavlovic’s representatives have already been approached through intermediaries, confirming strong interest from both Manchester clubs.
“The English sides are absolutely interested,” Falk revealed on the FCBayernInsider podcast. “At City, he’s even higher on their list. Pavlovic has improved physically and now plays with real confidence. His services would be in high demand in England.”
However, sources close to Old Trafford suggest that while United’s admiration for Pavlovic is genuine, their long-term target remains Brighton’s Carlos Baleba, viewed internally as a perfect fit for Ruben Amorim’s system. The Cameroonian powerhouse, who has been turning heads on the south coast, is expected to become United’s main midfield pursuit in 2026, with a blockbuster bid anticipated next summer.
Still, Pavlovic’s rise has been nothing short of remarkable. Since debuting for Bayern during the 2023/24 season, he has already made over 60 senior appearances and earned five international caps for Germany. His composure, distribution, and awareness have allowed Joshua Kimmich to shift to right-back, further emphasizing his tactical importance to Vincent Kompany’s side.
Former midfielder Hargreaves once described Pavlovic’s performances as “artwork,” adding:
“He barely makes a mistake. His touch map looks like a painting. He’s the heartbeat of Bayern’s control.”
While Bayern Munich have no intention of selling their homegrown gem anytime soon, Manchester United’s admiration remains strong. If Pavlovic continues his meteoric rise, the next great Premier League midfield battle may just begin in Bavaria.
