Tennessee notched another victory with a 33-14 win over Mississippi State.
The Vols started strong, leading 20-7 at halftime after Squirrel White scored his first touchdown of the season. Freshman Boo Carter also made a big impact with his first career interception in the first half.
Tennessee faced some challenges, beginning the second half without Dylan Sampson, who briefly left with a lower-body injury before returning. Quarterback Nico Iamaleava, however, suffered an upper-body injury and did not return, surprising many as the injury initially seemed minor.
Gaston Moore stepped in for Iamaleava and performed well, helping the Vols add to their score. Dylan Sampson provided the highlight play with a 33-yard touchdown run, sealing Tennessee’s 33-14 victory.
Next up, Tennessee faces Georgia in Athens on Saturday. Uncertainty remains around Iamaleava’s health, with updates on his condition expected soon.
